Character Models
Character Models is a project that delves into the field of human figures and motion through hand-drawn sketches. Working with pencil drawings, I have learned to apply my experience in illustration techniques for comic books to understand how figures affect a space through their anatomy.
The project has assisted me in bettering my skills in scale and balance, and relating them to architecture. In examining how to scale a human in a building and its impact on human interaction and relation to each other, I learned that the concepts of weight and balance can affect how people interact with each other and with spaces. Character models have supported the idea that architecture is for people and that one must first understand human anatomy to design spaces better.
