Old-School

Old School is a drawing created from memory of my old school. I wanted to try my skills at recalling the floor and its spaces without looking. The drawing is done without altering one line. I had to rely on my pencil to get all the proportions right to make it a realistic floor plan. There are a number of artists associated with this technique.

The drawing highlights how a man-made object can integrate with a site's topography. The lesson I learned from this project is that sometimes architecture is more effective when it is in harmony with its surroundings and does not control its environment.
