Triangular

The sketch, Triangular, delves into the geometric and energetic aspects of a Modern/Brutalist structure. The idea derives from testing how a structure can convey a sense of motion through line and contrast. I worked with a pencil, pen, and some corrections with an eraser to achieve this piece since I wanted to let my ideas develop organically.

The triangular formation created a tense and balanced effect on the page. The lines became more expressive as I continued drawing and created my abstract sketch. The assignment has helped me understand that perspective can occur without a vanishing point and that a sketch of architecture can simply convey a feeling of weight and space. Creating this sketch has helped me understand that a sketch of a building will not always have to be a building, but simply a feeling.
