Lake Side
Lake Side shows how a small lake house can be conceptually recreated by professional-grade concept pages that incorporate floor plans, exterior elevations, and an accompanying model. The project's objective has been to explore the relationship of limited spaces to openness and invitation. All of these concepts were incorporated in the model to investigate how form relates to comfort.
I concentrated on designing a layout that invites people to congregate as well as provide spaces for privacy and reflection. The design was intended to appear flexible and as if it could thrive in varied natural settings without altering its nature or sense of calm. Through working on this design project, I realized that scaled architectural designs can still possess significance. Lake Side taught me that good design reaches beyond aesthetic value and functionality. Good design affects the interaction of people with each other as well as with the spaces around them.
